Outdoors Tomorrow Foundation
Outdoor Adventures Manager
Arizona

My name is Nathan Butler and this is my second year living and teaching in Arizona. Growing up, I always knew I wanted to be in education and my goal was to move back to my hometown of Southlake, TX to climb the ranks and be a Texas high school football coach while teaching history. Instead of teaching history, I was hired to teach Outdoor Adventures (OA) and coach at the middle school level. After one year of teaching OA, I knew that I wanted to be using the Outdoor Adventures curriculum in a classroom setting for the rest of my career.

I spent four years in my hometown teaching units such as Boater Education, Angler Education, Hunter Education, Camp Cooking, NASP Archery, and Camping. Now that I am in Arizona, I am teaching Recreational Sports at Madison Meadows Middle School.

Due to the support of my administration and partnerships with the Arizona Game and Fish Department and the Arizona Bowhunters Association, I have been able to teach Angler Education, Boater Education, Camp Cooking, Camping, Challenge Course, NASP Archery, Orienteering and GPS Basics, Paddle Sports, Rock Climbing, and Survival Skills.
